Sub: Application of Safety Related Retirement Scheme (LARSGESS) to the Loco Pilots drafter to work as Crew Controllers-reg.

Federation does not agree with the view expressed by the Railway Board as conveyed videletter quoted under reference for the following valid vital reasons which perhaps have been ignored or lost sight of:-
(i) It is an admitted fact that the duties of Crew Controllers are performed by the existing Loco Pilots, for a tenure of five years while continued to be designated as Loco Pilot.
(ii) On completion of the tenure, these Loco Pilots are repatriated back to the cadre for performing running duties.
(iii) It may be appreciated that the Loco Pilots are deployed by the Administration to perform Crew Controller duties. It is also to be noted that the Crew Controller post does not exist at all as the said posts were amalgamated in Loco Pilot cadre.
The factual position mentioned above by the NFIR is sufficient to prove that in all fairness, the Loco Pilot deployed to perform crew controller duties is a Loco Pilot only and hence to be covered under LARSGESS.
NFIR, therefore, requests the Railway Board to review their incorrect decision.
