4992. SHRI DEEPENDER SINGH HOODA:

Will the Minister of DEFENCE be pleased to state:


(a) the objective of forming a one man judicial Committee on One Rank One Pension (OROP);

(b) the details of the key recommendations of the Committee;

(c) whether the Government has implemented the recommendations of the Committee;

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(e) the time by which the report is going to be made available in the public domain?

IN THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE

(a) to (e): The Judicial Committee on One Rank One Pension (OROP) was appointed to look into the anomalies arising out of implementation of OROP. The Committee has submitted its Report to the Government on 26.10.2016 which is still under examination.

  1. How many years required to examine the report. The committee prepared the report within 9 months. But the scrutinising staff required more time than preparing staff. Only lagging genuine rights of VETERANS. Just tricks of FM unelected Minister.

  2. Solong as the present minister is in command of both defence and finance ministry military personnel and veterans will not get any benefit or justice rather existing benefits will be curtailed
