Recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission-Revision of rates of Post Graduate Allowance in respect of Central Health Service Officers

Subject: Recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission-Revision of rates of Post Graduate Allowance in respect of Central Health Service Officers.
The undersigned is directed to refer to the subject cited above and to say that the Seventh Central Pay Commission has recommended to raise Post-Graduate Allowance by a factor of 1.5. The amount will further rise by 25 percent each time DA rises by 50 percent. Consequent upon acceptance of recommendations of the Seventh Central Pay Commission by the Government, the President is pleased to decide that hereafter the Post-Graduate Allowance will be paid at the rate of Rs. 2250/- p.m. (Rupees Two Thousand Two Hundred and Fifty per month) and Rs. 1350/- p.m. (Rupees One Thousand Three Hundred and Fifty per month) for possessing P.O Degree(s) and P.O Diploma(s) recognized under Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, respectively, to officers upto the level of Chief Medical Officer (NFSG) of General Duty Medical Officer sub-cadre of Central Health Service.
2. The rates of these allowances will be increased by 25 % each time the Dearness Allowance payable on revised pay scale rises by 50%.
3. Post-Graduate Allowance to CHS Officers will be sanctioned by Heads of participating units of CHS in terms of O.M No.A.29015/7/2004-CHS.V dated 5th October, 2006.
4. The revised rate of Post Graduate Allowance in terms of these orders shall take effect from 1st July, 2017.
5. This issues with the concurrence of Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance vide its I.D No. 19063/1/2017, Dy. No. 300347026/2017-E.IV dated 17.08.2017.
